A Family-Friendly Guide To Orlando

Disney World

Known as one of the most impressive theme parks in the world, Disney World combines action, adventure, and adrenaline into one convenient place. With four theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom) and two water parks (Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach), there’s an unlimited amount of attractions to discover. From the fairytale excitement of Magic Kingdom to the thrilling rides at Hollywood Studios, a visit to Disney World is a no-brainer for parents. And the best part? Disney World has a multitude of accommodation options, including a state-of-the-art timeshare program. Don’t let those points go to waste!

Blue Springs State Park

To encourage a bit of outdoor exploration, head to Blue Springs State Park for a once-in-a-lifetime experience with endangered West Indian Manatees. The waters are mandated as a designated manatee refuge that sees several hundred of the mammals during the winter months. During the swimming season, the crystal clear springs stay at an even 73 degrees, making it the perfect escape for snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, and canoeing.

With over 35,000 square feet of fun, WonderWorks is one of Orlando’s top “edu-tainment” attractions. The 100 hands-on exhibits, like the Space Suit, Mercury Capsule, Giant Piano, and Alien Stomper give kids the opportunity to delve deeper into the world of science. Conveniently located in between Disney World and Universal Studios, the excitement is easy to plan for! And the coolest part? WonderWorks’ outside is built like an upside-down mansion. Try explaining that one to the kids!

Universal Studios

Come “ride the movies” at Universal Studios’ famed Hollywood-themed park. Owned by NBCUniversal, the rides and attractions are all based on some of the best films of all time. The newest and most exciting of such is The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which opened its gates in 2010. While at the park, it’s possible to sip “Butterbeer” at the Three Broomsticks, tour a replica of Hogwarts Castle, and peruse Diagon Alley. Across Universal Studios, other favorite attractions are The Incredible Hulk Coaster and Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. Rides for the little ones include E.T. Adventures and the Flight of the Hippogriff.
