Located at parks throughout the city, the SummerStage Festival is not only free, but attracts big-name performers every year. This years acts include Public Enemy and the Indigo Girls. Don’t miss the benefit shows sprinkled throughout the summer that cost upwards of $35, including bands such as Cage the Elephant, Ryan Adams, and Matt Nathanson.
Flea Market Hopping
New York City undoubtedly has some of the best flea markets in the world. This summer, spend a Saturday hopping from one to another as you explore the eclectic array of items up for grabs. Brooklyn Flea at Fort Greene is incredibly popular for all-around good finds, while markets like Rock N’ Shop in Bushwick are tailored for music lovers. A wonderful evening activity is perusing the stalls at the Queens International Night Market for free performances, delicious food, and over 100 vendors.
