The Flower Fields

If you’re lucky enough to visit Carlsbad in the spring, taking a stroll through The Flower Fields is an absolute joy. Set within Carlsbad Ranch, the floral garden typically opens it’s doors from March 1st-May 10th. With activities for both children and adults, it’s truly an experience for everyone. The “Tecolote Giant Ranunculus,” a giant greenhouse filled with cymbidium orchids is the most popular attraction. The greenhouse also contains a 300-by-170-foot American flag created from red, white, and blue petunias. Stay for the live music, educational tours, and events sprinkled throughout the season.

Oceanside Pier

Oceanside Pier is a true delight for seekers of vintage charm and fun. The 1,954 foot wooden pier is a regional staple, complete with a 50’s style diner at the end. It’s most popular with fishermen who enjoy the serene views and lively fish, while surfers get their thrills on both the north and south side. Perfect for a lazy stroll or as a must-visit diner destination, Oceanside Pier is an iconic Carlsbad treasure.
